Community Guidelines

Morning Sign Out at UCSD is a student-run publication focused on health and science communication. These guidelines explain expected conduct for comments, submissions, and platform use.
1. Be Respectful
- Treat other readers, writers, and editors with respect.
- Disagree with ideas, not identities.
- Avoid personal attacks, insults, and hostile language.
2. No Harassment or Hate
- Do not post content that targets people based on protected characteristics.
- Do not threaten, intimidate, stalk, or encourage harassment.
- Sexual harassment or abusive conduct is not permitted.
3. No Spam, Scams, or Impersonation
- Do not post repetitive promotional content or irrelevant links.
- Do not impersonate another person or organization.
- Do not use fake engagement tactics or automated abuse.
4. Keep Content Constructive
- Stay on-topic and add value to the discussion.
- Avoid misinformation and cite reliable sources when making factual claims.
- Do not post illegal, explicit, or harmful material.
5. Account and Access Rules
- Comment access may be restricted to specific account types (for example, verified UCSD emails).
- Do not attempt to bypass moderation, security checks, or posting restrictions.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account session.
6. Moderation and Enforcement
MSO moderators may remove, edit, or limit content that violates these guidelines. Depending on severity or repeated behavior, we may:
- Remove individual comments or content submissions.
- Temporarily restrict commenting privileges.
- Permanently ban users from participation features.
7. Reporting and Appeals
If you see a potential violation, please use available reporting tools. If you believe moderation action was applied in error, contact us at mso.ucsd@gmail.com with context for review.
8. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these rules as our platform evolves. Continued use of community features after updates means you agree to the revised guidelines.
